The result of my poll was 1st and 2nd place - phoenix and leviathan .. yes they are not fighting like the poll said they would be, but since I wanted them to fill the whole pic and couldn't find good fighting poses for both to still look good I changed my mind.
Hope you like it anyway :3 It took me way too long and I am pretty desperate because the outcome is not that great. Please no crits about the anatomy or design xD the phoenix is pretty horrible. On the first sketch it looked quite nice, because the whole bird was really thin, neck, body, legs, wings.... but somewhere in the middle of the progress I noticed that it suddenly looked really weird ... so I changed a few things and since I didn't want to change the whole creature it now looks a bit odd ... sorry D: But aside from that my actual problem with this one was that I had no clue how to colour it. I drew a black/white pic and wanted to colour it afterwards but it somehow was the hell of difficult to do so and not ruin it ... oh my. *sigh* I might not change it again.. may this piece rest in peace >v< ... and at least I like it anyway somehow, also I am really glad that I finally spent more than just 3 hours on a pic like I got used to lately. o3o <3  --- photoshop CS4 / wacom intuos 3 and wacom cintiq 21.UX / ref: none / time: many hours over 2 weeks on and off / size: 2000px x 2000px 300dpi This pic, design(s), character(s) copyright © Ott Bettina All rights reserved.
